Thank you Greg for your comment it was a nice surprise to get it which shows how powerful elearning really is.
I have followed Greg's suggestion by adding this interesting video about ePortfolios. There are many more videos, really good stuff, through EDTalks.org. Check it out!

Enviro School Education
Enviro Education Tki and the new curriculum
Enviro Education and the NZ curriculum statements
I just have to point out, have a moan, it is always a surprise to get photocopied notes. We are an enviro school aren't we? Make a folder on the school network and save it there. Email a copy to every teacher as an attachment. Really not a drama don't you think? Please try it and ask if you are not sure how.

NATIONAL STANDARDS
In simplest terms.
Teachers to use their judgment, based on a variety of assessment tools as to what level.
All schools must provide a written report twice a year.
For more on assessment it is well worth visiting
http://assessment.tki.org.nz/
Will National Standards fail autistic children?
Here is an interesting video from Prof Hattie University Auckland on the National Standards.
Hattie points out it hasn’t worked anywhere else …. so what can we do to make the difference and be unique internationally?
The video finishes with a plee for teachers to be change agents for the system …. (Thanks to Greg for this).
If the video won't show use this link: http://edtalks.org/play.php?vid=328

Prof Hattie talks about not narrowing numeracy and literature but to look beyond to how to engage the students.
